Water & Mold Restoration Companies
ZWS Environmental Services, Inc offers multiple services to water and mold restoration companies, including thermal imaging (water loss assessments) and mold evaluations.
Water Loss Assessments
ZWS provides a third party consulting service to water restoration companies. By using thermal imaging, ZWS is able to quickly outline the area affected by the water loss. Once the affected area has been established, drying equipment can be more accurately placed. At the completion of the project, ZWS will verify and document that all areas have been properly and thoroughly dried.
Thermal Imaging Cameras are extremely beneficial on large water losses (i.e. hotels, condominiums, office buildings, etc), because rooms can be quickly scanned to determine affected and non-affected areas. In less than five minutes, a TIC can scan a room’s walls, ceiling, and floors. To monitor the same room with only moisture meters can take ten times as long, and affected areas can be easily missed.
Drying the building in an efficient manner reduces the potential for mold growth.

Mold Assessments
ZWS performs mold testing and consulting services throughout the Midwest . When an initial assessment is performed, ZWS will prepare a ‘scope-of-work’ that includes digital and thermal imaging pictures of the affected areas.
Our scope-of-work reports include the following information:
- Location of building materials that contain elevated moisture
- Relative humidity reading throughout the building
- Laboratory results of mold sampling (if performed)
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) needed
- Placement of containment and Air Filtration Devices (AFD)
- Structural remediation needed
- Content remediation needed
- HVAC remediation
After the mold remediation is complete, ZWS returns to the property to perform post-remediation testing. If testing shows acceptable levels of mold spores in the areas tested, a ‘ Clearance Notification’ will be granted for the property.
In order to achieve clearance, indoor samples must be statistically similar to the baseline reference.
