Mold Growth - Example Pictures
Example 1 shows mold growth on the inside of a wall cavity caused by condensation. Only minor mold growth could be seen on the exterior side of the drywall before the wall was opened.
Example 1

Example 2 shows a severely water damaged basement. The
bottom layer of drywall had become so saturated that it could not
support its own weight, and fell off the wall. Top layer of drywall
shows heavy mold growth.
Example 2

Example 3 depicts mold growth on drywall caused by high relative humidity. The owner’s contents were placed tightly against the wall, restricting air flow which resulted in mold growth.
Example 3

Example 4 shows mold growth on a plaster wall caused by a lack of insulation. An insulation deficiency can cause the surface temperature of the wall to fall below the dew point temperature. When this occurs, condensation forms.
