ZWS Environmental Services, Inc. performs Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) evaluations and water damage assessments in commercial and residential buildings throughout the Midwest . Our services are typically used by individuals dealing with IAQ issues (mold growth, bacterial contamination, chemical contamination, etc), and/or by individuals dealing with water damaged buildings.

ZWS is a third party consulting service. We do not perform structural drying or environmental remediation (clean-up), nor are we directly affiliated with such a company. Being strictly a third party consultant eliminates any ‘conflicts of interest’ while conducting our assessments. There are several companies that perform both assessments and remediation, which is a conflict of interest because these companies directly profit by telling you that your problem requires remediation. This is not the case with ZWS.

After ZWS performs an assessment, a specifically designed ‘scope-of-work’ is prepared for all identified problem areas. That scope-of-work is then used by remediation/restoration companies to rectify these areas of concern. If a problem is not found, ZWS will prepare a ‘Clearance Notification’ stating the property has been assessed. Clearance Notifications provide documentation of the property’s acceptable condition, which can help our clients sell their property and/or eliminate potential liability issues.

What separates ZWS from other third party consultants is our experience, training, and the technology we use. ZWS is an IICRC certified firm and a long standing corporate member of the Indoor Air Quality Association (IAQA), and the Better Business Bureau (BBB) of Wisconsin.

ZWS’s founding members have successfully performed over 1,250 IAQ and water damage assessments. ZWS is a ‘preferred vender’ for hospitals, nursing homes, general contractors, property management companies, real estate companies, insurance companies, and engineers throughout the Midwest.

Training

The Indoor Environmental Professionals (IEPs) at ZWS have the following degrees and certifications:

• Bachelor of Science - Microbiology
• Certified Indoor Environmentalists (CIE)
• Applied Microbial Remediation Technicians (AMRT)
• Water Damage Restoration Technicians (WRT)

Our IEPs have also received specialized training in Building Science and Applied Thermography.

Technology

ZWS uses state of the art equipment, such as Thermal Imaging Cameras, to assist us during IAQ and water damage assessments. Thermal Imaging Cameras aid in finding sources of moisture, which is a primary cause of mold growth and structural deterioration. This technology decreases the amount of time necessary for assessments, and allows us to take fewer IAQ tests, which saves our clients money.

Some degree of airborne mold spores can be found in nearly every environment, and most environments will never be completely free of mold. These concepts must be taken into consideration during IAQ testing and analysis.
